The IWCA Nominating Committee and Board of Directors proudly offer the following approved slate of nominees. Please indicate your agreement to the nomination, or provide a write-in candidate of your choice. Only professional members are allowed to vote and only one person from each company is allowed to vote. Once your secure voting code is used, you will not be able to access the voting page again.

Ballots must be received by Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 to be included in the 2010 IWCA Election.

Vic has been a member of IWCA for more than 16 years and currently serves as President-Elect of the organization and chair of the membership committee. He purchased Erlanger Window Cleaning Co. in 1993 and serves as President/Owner. Prior to his involvement in the window cleaning industry, Vic spent 15 years in banking in varying positions with two regional banks and a local start-up bank. He has a BA in Economics and an MBA in finance

Erlanger Window Cleaning specializes in residential, route, commercial and  high-rise window cleaning as well as building maintenance services in the greater Cincinnati market.

As IWCA President, Vic will focus on training and safety as well as providing our members additional resources to better help them manage and grow their businesses.

Larry has been a member of the IWCA Board of Directors for more than 10years and a member of our association for about 20years. He currently serves as President of our organization.

He has been active in the window cleaning industry for over 25 years and has been credited for the development of the regional safety training seminars, held throughout the United States for more then 10 years. In honor of his commitment to the industry, he was honored with the prestigious Ettore Award in 2006. Larry has been a guest speaker at a number of our conventions and has participated and/or attended most of the IWCA Safety Training Seminars and ANSI I 14.1 meetings. With a degree in business administration, he and his partner own Clean & Polish, Inc.  The company specializes primarily in commercial mid-rise and hi-rise window cleaning, as well as various other diversified services throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
 
As IWCA Past-President, Larry will focus his efforts on the expansion of the IWCA Certification Program for Owners and Managers and the Affinity Benefits Programs in order to assist in the membership recruitment and retention.  In addition, he wants to further assist in our industry's Glass Education Committee.
 

OFFICER CANDIDATES

 

IWCA President-Elect Nominee
Dan Dvorak, Valcourt Building Services,
Pennsauken, NJ
Dan has been a member of the IWCA Board of Directors for three years, serving for the past two years on the executive committee and is currently the chair of the education committee for which he has served as a committee member for three years. In addition to these roles, he also is an active member of BOMA, IREM, IFMA, PBMOA, GPHA and GPHEA.

Dan has been active in the window cleaning industry for 10 years. Prior to that time, he was the operations manager for a direct marketing firm for seven years. He also has served as chairman of a local charity event for 10 years, chair of the BOMA Philadelphia TOBY committee and served as board member for his local IREM and IFMA committees. Dan has a Bachelors’ degree in marketing.

As IWCA President-Elect  Dan will continue to market necessity of the I-14 Standard to BOMA in addition to educating organizations such as IREM and IFMA (that have not nationally acknowledged the I-14 standard at this time) on the value of the proper safety procedures. Dan is currently working on enhancing the IWCA Safety Certification program as well as other ways to help maintain and recruit members to IWCA.  

 

 

 

IWCA Treasurer Nominee
Alan Burton, Everclear Enterprises,
Atlanta, GA

Alan has been a member of the IWCA Board of Directors for three years and is currently serving as the IWCA Secretary.  He chaired the 2009 IWCA Convention Committee and is currently chairing the 2010 Convention Committee.  Prior to that, he served as a committee member for two years. Alan has worked in the window cleaning industry for the past 16 years, starting his company, Everclear Enterprises, shortly after graduating from the University of Georgia. Safety compliance is an essential factor in his business. Because of this he has championed I-14 compliance and proper roof design to architects, builders, owners and managers.

As IWCA Treasurer, Alan will work to increase professionalism within the industry and increase our membership base. He will also continue to market the importance of safety and accountability to our members and will work to improve and expand the conference to make it more valuable to our members.

The southeastern company has a high-rise/commercial division, a retail/industrial division, and a residential division.  In addition to window cleaning, Everclear Enterprises offers many other exterior building services including pressure washing, glass and building restoration, caulking, waterproofing and more.  Alan and his company are members of many other industry organizations including BOMA, SIA, PWNA and more. 

 

 

 

IWCA Secretary Nominee
Jonathan Hood, Excellent Window Cleaning, 
Rochester Hills, MI

As IWCA Secretary, Jonathan will continue to enhance programs currently offered to the IWCA, such as the member toolbox and other member resources. He will also work to improve convention schedules, partner with potential affinity partner, market IWCA charity programs and enhance residential programs. He will also work with the glass committee on those issues that affect window cleaners

Jonathan  has been a member of the IWCA Board of Directors for four years, serving on the benefits committee and was instrumental in organizing the 2007 IWCA Annual Convention. In addition to being active in the IWCA, he also is an active member of BOMA, the IWCA Safety Certification Program, and BIA/NAHB. Jonathan has been active in the window cleaning industry for 15 years. Hood was this year's recipient of the "IWCA most prestigious highest honor, The Ettore Award". 

Excellent Window Cleaning provides window cleaning, gutter cleaning, residential and commercial window cleaning services to those in the region.

 
       
    IWCA Secretary Nominee
Patrick West, Cliffhangers, Inc. 
North Quincy, MA

As IWCA Secretary, Patrick will continue to expand the safety training program that is currently offered by the IWCA. He previously served on the IWCA Board of Directors and he is also an active member of BOMA.

He has been active in the window cleaning industry for 15 years. He brings 15 years of managerial experience to the IWCA as well as his knowledge of suspended scaffold and rope descent systems, as well as his management experience and team building.

Cliffhangers, Inc. provides window cleaning, caulking, and power washing services to the region. The company also specializes in fall protection systems.

Jeff Ausprung, Central Wisconsin Window Cleaning
Wauwatosa, WI

Jeff  has worked in the window cleaning industry for the past 40 years. In addition to being a member of IWCA, he is also a member of SIA. Because Ausprung has worked in the business his entire life, he has handled almost every aspect of the window cleaning business from the ground up, including selling a business and starting a new company.

As IWCA Director, Jeff will focus on enhancing the educational opportunites of the convention.

Central Wisconsin Window Cleaning provides window cleaning, lift and stage rental and snowplowing to clients throughout the region.

 
 
   

Vickie Head, A-1 Orange Cleaning
Orlando, FL

Vickie has been active in the window cleaning industry for 26 years. She is a founding member of the IWCA and served on the IWCA Board of Directors from 1990, serving as President in 1995 and Past President in 1996. She is an active member of BOMA in Orlando and Jacksonville and is serving as the BOMA Southern Regional Conference Chair for 2012. She serves as an alternate on the ANSI I14.1 Committee.
 
As an IWCA Board member, Vickie will continue to educate BOMA and other professional organizations to the value of the International Window Cleaning Association. She will also continue to promote the ANSI I14.1 Standard to all related professional organizations and to others within our own window cleaning industry.

Chris Lambrinides, All County Window Cleaning
Vernon, NJ


Chris is the founder and CEO of All County Window Cleaning.   What started as a college side job for Chris 9 years ago, has now developed into the largest residential window cleaning company on the east coast.  Employing a staff of 55, All County Window Cleaning’s primary focus is residential window cleaning and storefront window cleaning routes.

He has been a member of the IWCA for the past seven years and is currently serving as a member of the IWCA Convention committee.  In addition, he also is a member of MWCOA.

As an IWCA Director, Chris  would focus on enhancing the residential program as well as expanding the education opportunities offered during the annual conventions.  He would bring his skills as a business owner to help mentor other window cleaners in order to help them achieve their professional goals in the industry.  Currently he mentors over two-dozen window cleaning companies across the United States.  There is an open door policy at All County Window Cleaning and window cleaners from around the country spend up to a week at a time visiting and learning.

All County Window Cleaning has a firm position on fabricating debris and poor quality glass issues. Lambrinides plans on making poor quality glass issues a top priority if elected.

 
 
   

Theresa Martin, Martin's Window Cleaning
Houston, TX

Theresa is currently serving on the IWCA Board of Directors.  She has worked in the window cleaning industry for the past 35 years and brings her experience as the CEO of Martin’s Window Cleaning Corporation to the industry. She is a previous Ettore winner, and served as an officer and board member of the IWCA from 1994-1997.  In addition to the IWCA, she is a member of BOMA, IREM, ASME, SPRAT and ACOE.

As an IWCA Director, Theresa  enjoyed working with both new and old members, watching the growth and transition of our member companies, as well as providing her time and experience in order to help others. She is a team player and has a desire to do what is right for the industry, even though it may not benefit her own company.

As a founding member of the IWCA Safety Committee and the IWCA/ANSI I-14 committee, She has always been an advocate for the safe use of all window cleaning equipment and proper safety training for window cleaners. 

Martin’s Window Cleaning provides commercial high rise window cleaning, as well as residential, industrial and store front window cleaning, glass restoration and sealing, pressure cleaning, remedial caulking to the region.
 
 
   

Matt Pierce, Fish Window Cleaning, Inc.
Boston, MA

Matt  is currently serving on the IWCA Board of Directors and he has worked in the window cleaning industry for the past six years. In addtion to being a member of IWCA, Pierce is also a member of BNI and the chamber of commerce. 

As IWCA Director, Matt  will look to continue building the professional image, safety and profitability of our industry.  He will lean on his experience as a franchisee to offer a potentially new perspective on building a window cleaning business. Pierce also will serve as a bridge between the IWCA and Fish Window Cleaning. As part of the largest Fish company, he believes he can attract more franchisees to become members of IWCA.

Fish Window Cleaning provides window cleaning, power washing, gutter cleaning, services.  Fish handles residential, route and mid-rise clients.

 
 
   

Sheila Smeltzer, A+ Professional Window Cleaning
Supply, NC

Sheila has been a member of IWCA since 2007. She attended her first convention that year in Nashville, TN where she was awarded attendance by scholarship. She has been an active member by serving on the Tempered Glass Quality Committee (now the Glass Education Committee), and the Residential Council. Additionally, she has contributed to several PWC articles, authored one, and is currently working on another. She has spoken at both conventions since Nashville including How to Survive a Scratch Glass Lawsuit (San Diego) and Residential Panel (Atlanta). Furthermore, Sheila has attended three safety regionals and already attended more than three official board meetings for the IWCA. Sheila also supports other organizations such as American United Window Cleaners and Master Window Cleaners of America. Sheila has recently served the IWCA by representing and speaking at two National Cleaning Expos in Myrtle Beach, SC and Ft. Worth, TX.

 As a board member, Sheila’s interest lies in representing the smaller companies in our organization and encouraging their participation as essential. She will also help to facilitate education on glass quality issues, support those members who are under attack of damages lawsuits, and remain dedicated to promoting glass education and protection to other trade groups.
Sheila’s personal story of how the IWCA helped her become a window cleaning professional and helped her survive a $52,000 lawsuit has made her a great advocate in these areas.
 
Sheila Smeltzer is president of A+ Pro Window Cleaning, Inc in Holden Beach, NC. A+ Pro Window Cleaning Inc is a small company with five employees. Sheila enjoys working in the field with her team and focuses on quality rather than quantity. Services offered are window cleaning (residential, commercial, and post construction), pressure washing and surface cleaning, and glass restoration including glass polishing and scratch removal.
